About the job:
The Google Cloud team helps companies, schools, and government seamlessly make the switch to Google products and supports them along the way. You listen to the customer and swiftly problem-solve technical issues to show how our products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative. You work closely with a cross-functional team of web developers and systems administrators, not to mention a variety of both regional and international customers. Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping Google grow its Cloud business and helping companies around the world innovate.
Responsibilities:
Architecture and Pipelines: Build scalable data pipelines with robust quality monitoring to ensure accuracy and integrity across various data sources.
Transformation and Analysis: Write complex SQL for extraction and transformation, powering automated reporting and quantitative analysis for key business decisions.
Collaboration and Design: Translate stakeholder data needs into actionable technical solutions alongside cross-functional engineering and product teams.
Visualization: Create and maintain dashboards to effectively communicate actionable insights and drive data-backed recommendations. Tooling and Automation: Automate data processes and build efficient tools using well-structured Python and SQL code.
Governance and Mentorship: Own the Data Governance charter for compliance, and mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in data analysis, database querying (e.g., SQL), and BigQuery.
Preferred qualifications:
Data Engineering and Governance: 12 years of experience leading data engineering and governance, defining policies, ensuring compliance, and managing metadata systems.
Programming and Systems Design: Proficient in Python, complex system design, and deploying solutions across GCP, data warehouses, and quality tools.
Leadership and Collaboration: Proven track record of leading large-scale technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and driving collaborative problem-solving.
Analytics and ML: Expertise in large-scale data analysis, statistics, and machine learning model development, with Data Center or Supply Chain domain knowledge.
Communication: Exceptional ability to clearly translate and explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
