Responsibilities:
Engage in the complete service life-cycle, encompassing inception, design, development, operation, and continual refinement.
Support services pre-launch through activities such as system design consultation, development of software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and formal launch reviews.
Contribute to the sustained development of our services, ensuring they operate with reliability, minimizing operational toil. Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health metrics.
Implement incident response procedures to guarantee services consistently meet their defined Service Level Objective (SLOs).
Collaborate with partner teams to identify risks within our corporate systems and develop solutions to simplify or mitigate adverse impacts on Google employees productivity or business processes. Seek opportunities to apply emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to address traditional system engineering challenges in effective ways.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with programming in one or more programming languages.
2 years of experience working with administration (e.g.,. filesystems, inodes, system calls) or networking (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protoco (TCP/IP), routing, network topologies and hardware, Software Defined Networking).
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
2 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
