With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

Responsibilities:
Manage a team of operating systems software engineers and graphics engineers working on Google Play's gaming platforms.
Oversee designs and feature implementations to ensure a performant, reliable multi-platform gameplay experience to delight our users. Review code, design documents, and test plans to ensure your team's work is high quality.
Partner with product management, program management, and UX to solve challenging problems and deliver business impact and form your own opinion on prioritization based on business impact.
Solve challenging problems that balance technical considerations (e.g., maintainability, scalability, reliability, availability, efficiency, security) with business requirements.
Experience industry-leading software development, deployment and production practices. Grow in your career with projects needing your expertise to grow your scope and impact. Balance your team's priorities across different products - ensuring that engineers are working on the highest impact features.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development.
3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.
2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Experience in managing a technical team working in Linux/Android systems.

Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
12 years of experience in a complex matrix organization.
Familiarity with Mobile and PC gaming.
Ability to build scalable, performant, and secure systems.
Ability to enjoy learning new things to work with a wide variety of features and tech stacks.
Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills.
